OpenFOAM Briefing - Thursday, November 4, 2010 - Wichita, KS
At ESI, we understand the constant pressure aerospace OEMs
and suppliers face to reduce development cost while
maintaining a very high level of engineering innovation.
In this environment, open source solutions appear to be
very attractive propositions, providing the organization
access to a virtually unlimited number of seats thus
allowing engineers to simulate more design variations and
fostering innovation. Also, with open source, engineer can
efficiently customize their simulations as needed with full
access to the source code. However, before this transition
to open source can happen, associated risks need to be
evaluated and minimized, and issues need to be addressed.
In particular, one has to carefully consider the quality of
the results, the overall workflow and associated
productivity, training, support, legacy data and many other
factors.
OpenFOAM is a free, open source CFD software package
offering an extensive range of features to solve anything
from complex fluid flows involving chemical reactions,
turbulence and heat transfer, to solid dynamics and
electromagnetic. It has a large user base across most areas
of engineering and science, from both commercial and
academic organizations. But is it right for you?
The National Institute for Aviation Research, Wichita State
University and ESI are happy to invite you to a
complimentary OpenFOAM Briefing during which the ESI
experts will share with you their knowledge and experience
of OpenFOAM. ESI has a global team of CFD consultants who
have been successfully using OpenFOAM in tens of projects
over the last four years. These projects ranged from
application projects to customized solver coding to
development of enhanced meshers, GUIs and workflow tools.
All attendees will be entered to win an Apple iPad!
