Type of Event: Workshop, Local

Description:

When: February 27, 2013 from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Where: Courtyard Chicago Lincolnshire, 505 Milwaukee Ave., Lincolnshire, IL 60069

Please join us for a complimentary workshop in the Chicago area on how Computational Fluid and Particle Dynamics (CFD & DEM) tools are being used effectively in the Chemical Process (CPI) and Pharmaceutical industries.

If you would like to improve any of the following areas, this event will help you increase throughput with minimal modifications:

  • Troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment
  • Design optimization:
    • Homogeneous flow distribution
    • Heat distribution and location of hot spots
    • Enhancement in separation quality by geometry reconfiguration
  • Reducing operating costs by increasing yields
  • Reduction in downtime and eliminating clogging/fouling
  • Running “What if” analysis for safety and environmental issues
  • Understanding how fluid structure interaction (FSI) can work for you

Attendees will walk away with a better understanding of how engineering simulation can be used to eliminate expensive experiments, decrease time-to-market of new products, and evaluate safety & performance of new conceptual designs. Experts will also discuss how these technologies are supporting the drive toward continuous manufacturing, e.g. for the API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient). The event will end with the opportunity for guests to try some of the concepts demonstrated using the latest in engineering simulation technology, STAR-CCM+.
