Lab-on-a-chip, BioMEMS devices are being increasingly used
in applications such as point-of-care diagnostics, drug
delivery, drug discovery, and tissue engineering. These
miniature devices are complex and usually involve multiple
steps such as sample preparation, pumping, dispensing,
detection, etc. Optimizing each of these steps requires
understanding the underlying phenomena such as surface
tension, electrokinetics (DEP, electroosmosis,
electrophoresis, and electrowetting), fluid-structure
interaction and biochemical & electrochemical reactions.
CFD/Multiphysics simulation tools can play a pivotal role
in
analyzing the various complex phenomena leading to faster,
robust, cost-efficient design and optimization of these
devices
Mr. Kunal Jain, Product Manager - ACE+ Suite will provide
an
insights on how ESI's CFD/Multiphysics software, ACE+
Suite, can be used to optimize a Microfluidic device. The
presentation will cover:
-Design challenges in a commercial Biochip
-VOF, Electrokinetics, Binding, Particle Transport, etc.
-Benefits of Design and Optimization using ACE+ Suite
-Live Demo of running a microfluidics problem in ACE+
**Attendees can request a 15 day free ACE+ Suite trial
license by email.
