Workshop on Fundamental Understanding and Modelling of High Pressure Turbulent Premixed Combustion (HPTC)
|
The workshop aims at contributing to fundamental physical
understanding of turbulent premixed (possibly stratified)
combustion at elevated pressures. It brings together
specialists with analytical, experimental and numerical
background with different perspectives to the topic of
understanding and modelling high pressure combustion as well
as experts from industry with a more application oriented
background.

Description: |
In many engineering applications (e.g. spark ignition
engines, industrial gas turbines) premixed combustion takes
place at elevated pressures. Increased pressure affects
both, flame and turbulence characteristics and in addition
chemical kinetics. Moreover, increasingly in modern
combustors high pressure combustion takes place involving
alternative fuels.
The workshop will give participants the
possibility to present and discuss their work and to
initiate and intensify collaborations in this field.
The workshop is dedicated to the topics of:
- Modeling, simulation, theoretical and experimental
analysis of turbulent remixed (possibly stratified)
combustion at elevated pressure.
- Innovative applications of modeling, simulation and
experiment in combustion devices operating at elevated pressure.
Selected contributions will be published as full papers in a
special issue of Combustion Science and Technology.
