Comparing Simulation and Measured Data Through Extractions
|
In this webinar you’ll learn four different
methods for extracting line and point data from
your 3D simulation data (using Tecplot 360).
These extraction methods are particularly
important if you are comparing results from
multiple simulations or simulation data with
measured data (such as wind tunnel results).

Description: |
3D images are invaluable in communicating your
results to colleagues and customers, but most
engineering decisions are made with line plots
and by distilling data to a single value.
In this webinar you’ll learn four different
methods for extracting line and point data from
your 3D simulation data (using Tecplot 360).
These extraction methods are particularly
important if you are comparing results from
multiple simulations or simulation data with
measured data (such as wind tunnel results).
Here’s what we’ll cover:
- Extract from Polyline – A quick and dirty check
of
your data.
- Extract Precise Line – Good for extractions from
volume
data. But beware! This method is dependent on the plot
view when extracting from surfaces.
- Extract a slice from a slice – Use for getting data
values at grid intersections – for example, avoiding the
loss of important information in the boundary layer.
- Probe On Surface – Python only. Best method for
extracting data from surface data. It is frequently used
when comparing wind tunnel data with solution data.
There will be plenty of time for Q&A and the end of the
webinar. A link to the recording will be emailed to all
registrants.
