Description: |
This course will discuss the Theory and Solution Strategies for current state-of-the-art modeling and simulation techniques for Fuel Cells and Fuel Reformers. Utilizing relevant examples from the industry, the instructors will demonstrate the value of simulations and discuss the assumptions made, along with their inherent limitations. Whether you are new or experienced in modeling, this course will help you understand the underlying principles of how simulations can impact important design decisions. Attendees will be able to get a head start on the art of modeling fuel reformation process and commonly used fuel cells in the industry.
This course is a must for every fuel cell professional involved in reformer and fuel cell design, analysis, R&D, process development, or technical management.
The course will demonstrate:
- Transport Processes
- Heat/Mass Transport
- Length Scales and Modeling Challenges
- Water Transport
- Current Transport
- Heterogeneous Chemical Reactions
- Coupling with Heat, Mass, and Current Transport
- Chemical Kinetics and its relation to selectivity, poisoning, etc.
This course is lecture-based and given by scientists and/or application engineers over the span of 2 days. Demonstrations using our flagship product, CFD-ACE+, will be shown.
