Description:

Join us at The International Symposium on Process Systems Engineering and Control For Productivity Enhancement through Design and Optimization to be held at Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India. Process systems engineering has emerged as an important interdisciplinary area over the last two decades. The objective of this symposium is to bring together leading researchers on a common platform to discuss the state of the art in this area. The conference intends to highlight, among the other subjects, the application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to enhance productivity of chemical processes and process equipment.

There has been a global increase in the use of computational fluid dynamics in the chemical process industries over the past few years. Recent advances in CFD technology and the rapid growth of powerful computer resources have made CFD an attractive analysis technique and design tool for these industries. This special session has been organized to bring together researchers and developers from industry, academia, and government labs to exchange technical information and to discuss current issues in the application of CFD in productivity enhancement.

Specific topics may include (but are not limited to):

  • Design Optimization
  • Heat and Mass Transfer
  • Multiphase Flows
  • Reacting Flows
Studies involving combined numerical and experimental work are particularly encouraged.

Abstract deadline: October 15, 2002
