The aim of this Lecture Series is to provide basic knowledge about the measurement techniques currently used in fluid dynamics (pressure & temperature measurements, hot wire, optical techniques incl. Schlieren and shadowgraph method, infrared thermography, spectroscopic measurements, LDV, PIV and signal processing). This course, prepared and presented by VKI teaching staff, is based on a long experience with the different techniques. It is oriented towards young engineers with limited experience in this field and includes laboratory sessions during which relevant techniques are demonstrated to groups of five people maximum.
