Description: |
The annual Lecture Series in Computational Fluid Dynamics brings in-depth presentations on well-established and
recent advances in the field of algorithm development for numerical flow simulation, to bridge the gap between
applied mathematics (numerical analysis), fluid dynamics and informatics (software development). This year course
will focus on multiscale methods for partial differential equations. It will cover both the aspect of multiscale
modeling techniques such as PDE homogenization, Reynolds and Favre averaging, Large Eddy Simulation as well
as the aspects of optimal complexity algorithms for multiscale problems such as multilevel algorithms, algebraic
multigrid and variational multiscale finite element methods.
