Description: |
The unsteadiness due to blade passing events can have important effects on the aerodynamic and heat transfer of the flow field. The lectures will first focus on the experimental and numerical tools available to investigate these phenomena. The course will then be illustrated with examples and the state of the art of the knowledge and understanding in compressors and turbines will be described. Possibilities to take advantage of these unsteady phenomena to improve the performance or techniques to reduce the interaction to minimize unsteady forces will be commented. Finally, the link between the aerodynamic excitation and forced response, aeroelasticity and noise will be made. The lecturers are expert from university and industry.
