Adaptive Grid Approaches for Fluid Dynamics Applications
A two-day event on Adaptive Grid approaches covering structured and unstructured methodologies
Date: | December 14, 2004 - December 15, 2004 |
Location: | Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Cambridge, United Kingdom |
Web Page: | http://www.damtp.cam.ac.uk/user/lcd/amr_short_course_2004/index.html |
Special Fields: | Adaptivity |
Deadlines: | December 8, 2004 (registration) |
Type of Event: | Course, International |
Description: | |
This is a unique opportunity to learn about three major adaptive grid approaches (and associated topics) for fluid dynamics applications, from lecturers who are leaders in their field. The course will cover unstructured and structured (curvilinear, overlapping-grid and Cartesian cut-cell) mesh generation methodologies The lectures will give throretical background, but are mainly application-oriented, thus being accessible for participants with backgrounds from applied sciences, engineering as well as applied mathematics. Lecturers: David Bacon (SAIC), John Bell (LBNL), Bill Henshaw (LLNL) There will also be a one-day workshop on "Adaptive Grid Methodologies for Environmental Modelling for large-scale atmosphere/ocean applications " on Thursday 16 December 2004 |
