The EPA has just released the Clean Air Interstate Rule, which it has described as the "biggest pollution reductions in the last 15 years." It will require power plants in 28 states and the District of Columbia to cut SOx by up to 70% and NOx by 60% by 2015. This is estimated to cost $3.6 billion per year over 10 years while saving $85 billion to $100 billion in health care costs.

The use of flow modeling can ensure proper design and installation of equipment while reducing physical testing to ensure both compliance and cost effectiveness.
