Application inviting for 2025 sessions PhD Research Scholar Position in Electronic Cooling Institution: Center of Excellence for Electronic Cooling and CFD Sim Lab Department: College of Engineering and Technology (CET) Location: SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu, India Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated PhD Research Scholar to join our cutting-edge research team in the field of Electronic Cooling. The candidate will work under the supervision of experienced faculty and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to explore innovative cooling techniques for electronic systems, including the development of advanced thermal management solutions. Research Focus: The primary area of research will focus on: Thermal Management of Electronics: Studying and developing efficient cooling techniques for high-power electronic devices and systems. CFD Simulations: Utilizing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools, such as ANSYS ICEPAK, to model and analyze heat transfer mechanisms in electronics. Phase Change Materials (PCMs): Researching the integration of PCMs into cooling systems to enhance thermal performance. Miniaturization of Cooling Solutions: Investigating novel cooling strategies like microchannel heat sinks and two-phase cooling for compact electronic components. Nanofluids in Cooling: Exploring the potential of nanofluids in enhancing heat transfer in electronic cooling applications. Experimental Validation: Designing and conducting experiments to validate simulation results and improve the reliability of electronic cooling methods. Key Responsibilities: Conduct research on advanced cooling systems for electronic components. Perform CFD simulations and thermal analysis using industry-standard software. Collaborate with other researchers and industrial partners on joint projects. Publish high-quality research papers in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Present research findings to academic and professional audiences. Qualifications: A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field. Strong background in Thermal Management, Heat Transfer, and CFD. Experience with CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS ICEPAK, Fluent) and experimental methods related to electronic cooling is highly desirable. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
